Central America is one of the poorest regions
in the world with widespread unemployment and poverty. In Nicaragua,
almost half of the total population attempts to live on less than
one dollar a day. The daily struggle of many members of the church
is where to find their next meal for themselves and their families.
When poverty is so severe, it is almost impossible for people to
break the poverty cycle by themselves. The need is evident. The
vision for CFH is literally to eventually reach tens of thousands
of latter-day saints, to give them hope, and enable them to overcome
the poverty in which they find themselves.
