One of our recent developments includes: The opening of a new office in León, Nicaragua, with Christian Hernandez as the manager. Christian is an experienced lawyer who is currently serving as Bishop of the LDS Church. He had expressed his excitement to join the foundation in the effort of helping the people in the city of León. We look forward to his success.
Another important development is the departure of Duane Williams, who has worked with us for four and a half years as our Executive Director. He has provided steady and consistent leadership during a significant growth phase of the foundation. He helped grow the foundation from two offices to nine in four different countries. His dedicated service has gained the respect of our field staff and my personal trust and we will certainly miss his experience and wisdom.
Although Duane will retire in July of this year we are pleased to announce that he will continue to be involved and serve on our board of Advisors.
We are also glad to announce and welcome Tim Evans as our new Operations Manager. Tim has over 20 years of international development experience working throughout latinamerica and Africa. Recently he returned as the mission president of the Multaré, Mexico Mission of the LDS church. We look forward to draining from his experience.
We recognize the success of our multifaceted program and want to extend these programs to thousands more. I invite you to join with us as a volunteer or donor. In the process, you will not only help empower people, your own life will be blessed with a sense of personal growth.
Sincerely,
Dan Gifford
