Other opportunities for service are also available from time to time. Many projects and activities are carried out by volunteers donating service hours. Service opportunities exist here in the United States to help with programs, projects, newsletter and website materials, and helping to find additional participants and donors. Some participants have organized with friends or returned missionary organizations to form collaborative groups that can provide more extensive service and funds.

Uses of Funds

In the United States the Executive Director is a part-time paid employee who is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the foundation. Two additional full time employees have been added to meet the needs of our growing foundtion and the increasing number of participants. Other activities and programs are accomplished with service hours of the executive committee, the board of advisors, and other volunteers.

In Central America, each location has an office and a field manager that are funded by the foundation. When necessary a full time assistant has been added to meet the needs of all participants. The programs of Cause for Hope (see the Programs page) are managed by the field manager and funded by donations from participants. Cause for Hope also partners with local businesses, banks, and vocational schools to share in expenditures and loans.

The local office provides a central place for the administration of local programs and for classrooms for various types of training and missionary preparation.

The field managers are the individuals who actually carry out the programs such as dispensing funds, preparing people to receive small business loans, preparing young people for missions, organizing training classes, and making contacts with local businesses, vocational schools, and banks. Each field manager is an integral and essential component of the Cause for Hope programs and success. Each was carefully chosen with recommendations from Area Authorities, and each comes with extensive church and business experience.

The sole purpose of Cause for Hope is to help individuals and families to become self-reliant and to be able to provide for themselves. We invite you to participate with us in this effort to help members of the church in Central America to become self-sufficient.
